Getting started

1. Open Gridshot and tap Camera to photograph a table, or Photos to pick an existing image. You can also share an image to Gridshot from Photos.
2. Gridshot reads the rows and columns and shows you the grid. Tap any cell to correct it.
3. Tap CSV or Spreadsheet, then send the file to Files, Mail, AirDrop, or any app on your share sheet.

Common questions

It says "No table found"

Gridshot needs to see rows and columns clearly. It helps to:

• Get the table square in frame rather than at an angle
• Move closer so the text is large and sharp
• Avoid glare, shadows and reflections, especially on screens and glass
• Use printed or typed tables — handwriting is unreliable for any scanner

Some cells are highlighted

A highlighted cell is one Gridshot was less certain about. It's a prompt to check that cell, not an error. Tap it to edit; the highlight clears once you do.

Why are some cells wrong?

Text recognition is not perfect, particularly on small print, dense tables and low light. Every cell is editable before you export, so you can fix anything that came through wrong.

The photo has more than one table

Gridshot uses the first table it finds and tells you when there are others. Crop the photo to the table you want, or photograph it on its own.

I paid but Gridshot is still locked

Open the unlock screen and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with. If it still doesn't unlock, email me.

Which file formats can I export?

CSV, which opens anywhere, and XLSX spreadsheet files, which open in Numbers, Excel and Google Sheets.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything happens on your iPhone, so Gridshot works in airplane mode.

Privacy

Gridshot has no accounts and no server. Your photos are read on your device and are never uploaded. See the privacy policy.
