Effective 23 August 2026
Gridshot does not collect any data about you. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Your photos are processed on your iPhone and are never uploaded anywhere.
When you photograph a table or choose an image, Gridshot reads the text in it using Apple's text recognition, which is built into iOS and runs entirely on your device. The image and the resulting spreadsheet stay on your iPhone. Nothing is transmitted off the device at any point.
Gridshot works with no network connection at all, including in airplane mode.
Gridshot contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about you is shared with anyone, because nothing is collected.
Gridshot saves a small amount of information locally so the app works as expected, such as how many exports you have made and whether you have purchased the unlock. This stays on your iPhone, is not readable by anyone else, and is deleted if you delete the app. Exported CSV and spreadsheet files are saved wherever you choose to put them.
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; Gridshot never sees your payment details. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction, and Gridshot only receives confirmation from iOS that the purchase is valid.
Gridshot is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Data protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Gridshot holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to request, export or erase. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
If a future version of Gridshot ever changes how information is handled, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change before that version is released.
